Bike Helmets

Laws and Legal in Northwest Arkansas.

Safety First!

Being the number one family-friendly motorcycle rally in the country is something that Bikes, Blues & BBQ takes great pride in. It is our intention that everyone attending the rally has a great time and a safe riding experience. That being said, here are some important local laws and legal information that will keep all of our visitors on the right side of the law.

State Helmet Laws

Different states have different requirements regarding the wearing of helmets and eye protection when riding. The statutes for Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas are listed in the PDF to the right. To ensure a safe and fun riding environment, Bikes, Blues & BBQ suggests that a helmet be worn at all times when operating or riding as a passenger on any motorcycle or trike.

City of Fayetteville Noise Ordinance

The City of Fayetteville has a noise ordinance that applies to excessive noise from motorcycle exhausts and loud revving of engines and may result in a fine of up to $500. Bikes, Blues & BBQ asks that all riders attending the rally be respectful of local residents when riding inside the city limits and avoid any excessive revving of exhausts and engines. For a full listing of the noise ordinance download and read the PDF to the right.

Also listed to the right is a link to Sound Advice. This document, which addresses the issue of motorcycle sound, is a result of the National Summit on Motorcycle Sound and was crafted with input from all segments of the motorcycling community, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies.
